At Locks Law Firm, we believe the strength of the plaintiff’s bar depends on who gets a seat at the table — and we’re committed to helping build that table. We strive to create an environment that is truly diverse, where everyone’s voice is valued.
We are proud to announce our participation in the 2026 Diverse Mentoring Initiative (DMI), a program of Pennsylvania Justice dedicated to expanding diversity and opportunity within the plaintiff’s legal community. This summer, Locks Law Firm will welcome a DMI mentee into our practice — and we couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead.
What Is the Diverse Mentoring Initiative?
The Diverse Mentoring Initiative connects emerging law students from backgrounds that are diverse with established plaintiff’s firms across Pennsylvania. Through hands-on legal exposure, structured mentorship, and a robust calendar of professional development events, DMI gives future lawyers a meaningful, real-world look at what it means to fight for the people — not the powerful.
This isn’t an observership. DMI participants roll up their sleeves. They sit in on depositions, attend court appearances, contribute to real case work, and build the kind of relationships that shape careers. In fact, the program fosters a culture that’s proudly diverse.
“Diversity in the plaintiff’s bar isn’t just a goal — it’s a necessity. The communities we serve deserve advocates who reflect their lived experiences. We’re honored to play a role in that work.”
— Managing Partners, Locks Law Firm

Ten weeks. Genuine cases. Authentic mentorship. Tangible impact. The initiative unites attorneys and mentees from backgrounds that are genuinely diverse.
Why This Matters to Us
The plaintiff’s bar exists to level the playing field — and yet, for too long, the bar itself has not reflected the diversity of the clients it serves. Programs like DMI are changing that, one mentorship at a time. By investing in the next generation of diverse legal advocates now, we’re helping to build a profession that is stronger, more credible, and more just.
For our mentee this summer: we see you, we’re ready for you, and we are genuinely excited to learn alongside you.
Locks Law Firm is proud to support the Diverse Mentoring Initiative and Pennsylvania Justice’s mission of expanding access and diversity within the plaintiff’s bar. For more information about the DMI program, visit the Pennsylvania Justice website.
