Wawa Announces Data Breach Potentially Affecting All Locations

Wawa has announced a data breach affecting customers who visited their locations and paid with a credit or debit card from March 4, 2019 to December 12, 2019. The Notice of Data Breach on their website states that, “This malware affected customer payment card information used at potentially all Wawa locations beginning at different points..”

Investigation into the incident revealed that customer names, credit and debit card numbers along with expiration dates were exposed, although PIN numbers and CVV numbers were not.

If you visited Wawa within that period of time and suspect your credit or debit card information was exposed there are a few things you can do.

  • Keep an eye on your account for fraudulent charges.
  • Check your credit report. Wawa is offering enrollment with Experian free of charge if you use their promo code which can be found on the Wawa website.
  • You can also reach out to the bank that issued your card and request a new one.

If you have experienced fraudulent charges on a payment card after using the card at Wawa between  March 4, 2019 and December 12, 2019 and would like to discuss your rights please contact us today.
