Background and Experience
Andrew J. DuPont is a partner and trial attorney with the Locks Law Firm. His practice focuses on toxic tort and catastrophic injury cases. Andrew is a national leader in representing workers and consumers who are caused to develop leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood cancers from benzene exposures. He also represents victims of asbestos exposure who develop mesothelioma and other cancers. Fluent in Portuguese, Andrew represents members of the Brazilian and Portuguese community in a variety of claims, from workplace injuries to the Northeast Philadelphia airplane crash. He has tried numerous complicated cases to verdict, including obtaining the largest personal injury verdict for a single plaintiff in Pennsylvania history – $725.5 Million in Gill v. Exxon Mobil Corporation. Andrew has also won verdicts for clients who suffer from mesothelioma and a construction worker with a traumatic brain injury.
Andrew joined Locks Law Firm (then Grietzer & Locks) as a paralegal in 2002. He graduated from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2003 and became an attorney with the firm upon his admission to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars. Andrew is the chair of the American Association of Justice’s benzene litigation group and a member of the Board of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.
Outside the Office
Andrew was born and raised in Philadelphia, where he currently resides with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, Andrew served as a founding member of the board of a non-profit immigration legal services organization devoted to representing immigrants in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. He is an avid fan of Philadelphia sports teams and enjoys spending time with his large family, including those in Northeastern Brazil.
