Seeking Justice: Locks Law Firm Represents Victims of Northeast Philadelphia Plane Crash
On January 31, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Northeast Philadelphia when a Learjet 55, operating as Med Jets Flight 056, crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The aircraft, en route to Tijuana International Airport with a planned refueling stop in Missouri, was a medevac flight carrying six individuals, including a young patient and her mother. Tragically, all six occupants perished in the crash. The plane struck multiple buildings and vehicles, resulting in fires and explosions that claimed the life of one person on the ground and injured at least 24 others.

Paraquat and Parkinsons
Paraquat is an herbicide marketed for use in the United States by Syngenta under the brand name Gramoxene. American Farmworkers and those in commercial agricultural settings are most highly affected by exposure to Paraquat. It is highly toxic to humans and animals who are exposed to the chemical. Despite Paraquat being banned in more than 60 countries, including China where Syngenta’s parent company is owned and incorporated, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) still approves the domestic use of Paraquat for licensed workers.

Deference to the Chevron doctrine prevents courts from exercising the judicial power vested in them by Article III. This decision usurps the power of federal agencies to interpret the laws that they administer. Now, if an environmental law or food and drug administration law is vague or ambiguous, judges without expertise, rather than the federal
government which employs scientists and experts with specialized knowledge, could re-define “clean air” and “clean water.” They could decide that these terms are subject to interpretation. The ramifications for our environment could be devastating. This judicial activism will continue to profoundly affect our freedoms, health, and well-being.
Impella Heart Pump Device Recall
Impella left-sided heart pumps are used to support the blood-pumping ventricles of the heart during surgery for opening a blocked artery or clearing blockages after a heart attack. They may also be used during open heart surgery, post-heart attack, when an individual’s heart has been damaged to the extent that it can no longer supply sufficient blood or oxygen to the body (cardiogenic shock), or for those who suffer from diseases of the heart muscle (Cardiomyopathy). Use of the pump is aimed to allow the heart to recover while maintaining the circulatory system.
